Not Really News- Galveston Islanders Who Stayed Behind Died!









So the last thing one woman said on the phone with a friend was "I really messed up this time". That's an understatement. The real news is that so few people died in Galveston, 33 confirmed, about 200 still missing. Read the story here.

What a ludicrous way to predict hurricanes. Rarely does a hurricane hit the Texas coast in an even numbered year they claim. So about to be proven wrong, much to this Houston resident's chagrin. Read the story here.

SHORELINE OF GALVESTON BAY...15 TO 22 FEETLIFE THREATENING INUNDATION LIKELY!ALL NEIGHBORHOODS...AND POSSIBLY ENTIRE COASTAL COMMUNITIES...WILL BE INUNDATED DURING THE PERIOD OF PEAK STORM TIDE. PERSONSNOT HEEDING EVACUATION ORDERS IN SINGLE FAMILY ONE OR TWO STORYHOMES WILL FACE CERTAIN DEATH. MANY RESIDENCES OF AVERAGECONSTRUCTION DIRECTLY ON THE COAST WILL BE DESTROYED. WIDESPREADAND DEVASTATING PERSONAL PROPERTY DAMAGE IS LIKELY ELSEWHERE.VEHICLES LEFT BEHIND WILL LIKELY BE SWEPT AWAY. NUMEROUS ROADSWILL BE SWAMPED...SOME MAY BE WASHED AWAY BY THE WATER. Hurricane Ike- Official Warns Coast To Avoid "Hurricane Fatigue".










As Hurricane Ike approaches, the third storm to threaten the coast from New Orleans, LA, to Houston, TX this year, official warns public to beware of "hurricane fatigue". My favorite response is from a houston resident, "I don't live in a flood zone. My house is made of solid brick. " I believe she may be suffering from "hurricane fatigue." Read the story here.
